But old grudges and wounds are hard to forget or forgive. How well do we know our family, our friends, or even ourselves? And what exactly did Alex do to mess up their lives so completely that last spring holidays?

In Mississippi, Mack, a young boxer, trains with Don, an ex-boxer. They go to bars where Don bets on Mack to beat any challenger who steps up to fight him. There’s no losing for Mack ‘cause Don only goes home with winners. If Mack wins 100 consecutive fights, Don will send him to a promoter he knows in NYC. There was only one boxer, Pig-Eye Reeves, who had won 100 consecutive fights, and Don’s more than happy to ply Mack with stories about Pig-Eye's exploits.
The story opens with Mack winning his 90th fight, and Don coming homes with BETTY, a woman he’s “won” in a fight. Don knows he “ain’t won nothin’.” The question is, what are they going to lose. Everyone knows, the stakes go up when there’s a woman at a fight.

An arrogant, self-satisfied man named, RICHARD (DICK) YORK, has the misfortunate of insulting the wrong witches in New York City's Central Park. Turned into a toad who cannot lie, Dick must find a “true love and loyal heart” to break the spell. In this world of Facebook, Snap Chats, and Tweets, would a toad be able to get anyone to spare a moment to help him, much less be his “true love and loyal heart”?
Purgatory: A Love Story was a finalist at the Nantucket Film Festival and Screenplay Competition.
